Σαν γεμίσει το φεγγάρι - When the moon is full

Σαν γεμίσει το φεγγάρι
βρίσκει δρόμο και γλιστράει στη γη.

Μεσάνυχτα λούζεται στο ποτάμι,
χύνεται και κολυμπάει στη θάλασσα,
κυλάει στα δακρυσμένα μάγουλα
των κοριτσιών.

Στο σπίτι σου
ρίχνεις νερό στα σκαλοπάτια
ν’ ανέβει το φεγγάρι
ως την εξώπορτα.

Ψες με πήρε μαζί του
στις κορυφές των βράχων, στα Μετέωρα,
να σεργιανίσουμε την Καλαμπάκα.

When the moon is full

it finds its way to slip on the Earth

In the midnight it washes its hair in the river

it pours itself in the sea and swims

it rolls on the tearful cheeks

of the girls.

At home

you pour water on your doorsteps

so as the moon can climb

till your front door.

Last night it took me

to the top of the rocks, called Meteora

to travel Kalampaka.
